The beluga is a type of whale and they are found in the arctic oceans. The male beluga is larger than the female beluga in height as he reaches a length of up to 18ft long while the females grow up to 13ft. The beluga whale is the only species of whale that can change the shape of their lips. They can even change the size of the lump on their head. When the lump is big it is signalling something to other Belugas.
The Beluga whale has some other types of names such as the white whale, sea canary and the singing whale. It gets the names sea canary and singing whale because of all of the different sounds that they make. Scientists think that they make these sounds to communicate with other Belugas but no one knows for sure.
